Each summer, the tiny but mighty community of Trapper Creek comes alive with local pride, laughter, and celebration during the annual Fireweed Festival—a much-anticipated event that has been blooming with heart and hospitality for nearly two decades. This year marks the 18th Annual Trapper Creek Fireweed Festival, and Sunshine Community Health Center is honored and excited to be part of it once again.
What began as a small community gathering has grown into a vibrant local tradition full of Alaskan flavor, creativity, and neighborly fun. Set against a backdrop of blooming fireweed and summer sunshine, the festival brings together families, artists, musicians, small businesses, and organizations to share in the joy of community.
For us at Sunshine CHC, being part of the Fireweed Festival isn’t just about showing up—it’s about connecting. Trapper Creek is home to a unique, resilient group of individuals, and we’re grateful for every opportunity to build relationships, hear your stories, and share the resources and care that support your health and wellness year-round.
This year, we’re especially excited to bring a limited-edition Sunshine logo shirt featuring a custom fireweed design—a thank-you gift for those who make a donation of $30 or more to support our work. Only 20 of these shirts will be available at the event, so we encourage visitors to come early and say hello!

Every donation made to Sunshine CHC, whether online or in-person, helps us do more for our communities. As a nonprofit community health center, we rely on donations to help:
Cover costs for essential patient care not fully reimbursed by insurance
Provide services on a sliding scale for those without coverage
Maintain and grow outreach efforts in rural and remote areas
Fund wellness programs that go beyond the exam room
You can learn more or donate directly at www.sunshineclinic.org/donations.

We believe in meeting people where they are—with compassion, creativity, and commitment. And we love being able to give something back in appreciation for your support. Whether it’s a warm smile, a helpful resource, or a fireweed-themed shirt, it’s our way of saying thank you for being part of the Sunshine CHC community.
We can’t wait to see you at the Trapper Creek Fireweed Festival on Saturday, July 19th from 12–6 PM at the Trapper Creek Community Center. Come celebrate with us, grab some swag, and let’s continue growing a healthier, more connected community—together.
